SMS Students from South Meadow School visited the CTE Center at ConVal High School, where they had the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities and gain firsthand experience in several different programs. During the visit, students learned about a variety of career and technical education offerings that are designed to help build practical skills, explore potential career paths, and prepare them for future careers and employment opportunities.

The Puma Personal Responsibility Award is given to students who consistently demonstrate an exceptional level of accountability for their individual actions and decisions. Recipients of this award are recognized for their integrity and maturity; they understand that every choice carries weight and are prepared to honorably accept the resulting outcomes, whether they lead to success or provide a difficult learning experience.

The Focus and Flexibility Award is presented to students who consistently demonstrate the ability to concentrate on their work, remain engaged in the tasks at hand, and smoothly adjust to new situations or changes in routine. This award recognizes their strong work habits, adaptability, and positive approach to shifting expectations.

The Puma Strength in Action Award was presented to South Meadow School in recognition of the students’ ability to understand, develop, and use their personal strengths to achieve success. The award highlights their determination to pursue goals, as well as the resilience and perseverance they demonstrate when facing challenges.

On Tuesday, November 11th Mr. Ed Lowy and our South Meadow School Band proudly participated in the community’s Veterans Day events. We are grateful to Mr. Lowy and our talented student musicians for representing SMS so well and helping make the day meaningful for all who attended.
